Tata BP Solar is a joint venture of Tata Power and BP Solar. Tata Power is a pioneer in Power Sector in India and one of the largest company in the Tata Group. BP Solar is one of the largest solar companies in the world. Tata BP Solar was incorporated on 27 Nov 1989 and the commercial production started on 1 Feb 1991.

The objective of the Company is to develop and propagate renewable energy in the form of Solar Power. Tata BP Solar’s sophisticated manufacturing facilities in Bangalore are the largest of their kind for Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Products and Systems, in India. The Company designs, engineers, manufactures and installs these systems to cater to both domestic and industrial needs. For custom-designed solar electric projects, the Company employs computerized system-sizing design tools.
